Service Description
The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). Who should take this course? The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. What does this course teach? • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components • Important early use of an AED • Effective ventilations using a barrier device • Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants Basic Life Support (BLS) Course Options: Basic Life Support (BLS) is available in two different training methods – blended learning or fast track and classroom training. BLS Online Fast-Track • Online and in-person hybrid for new or renewing students • Includes online access (2 hrs) and instructor-led skills testing (1.5 hrs) • Price includes Online Access Key for the online study portion & Skills Session Appointment. • You must complete the online portion at home before your skilled session appointment. • eLearning.Heart.org Access Key is emailed to you once you complete registration. Refunds are not available for Fast-Track Courses. • American Heart Association Certification e-Card received at end of skills appointment. System Requirements: The online portion has been tested on Windows XP and Mac OSX, with Internet Explorer 8+ or Firefox 2+. Please do not use the Internet Explorer 10 browser with this course. All BLS course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA BLS Course Completion Card. Is AHA BLS the right course for me? BLS is geared towards prehospital providers, like EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, and in-facility hospital providers. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course

Cancellation Policy: Refunds & reschedule • Refund requests for classroom-based courses (Vent & Trach) must be made 3 Days (72 hours) before your original course start time. • No Refunds will be given for FastTrack or Online/Blended Learning courses (BLS and CPR) • No Refunds will be given for cancellations made on or after your original course date. • No Refunds will be given once a class has been rescheduled. • No Refunds will be given for registrations made less than 3 Days (72 hours) before course start time. • All Refunds will be subject to a fee of 4% to cover the cost charged by our credit card merchant processing company. • No refunds will be given for Course Manuals or Course Materials that have already been shipped or picked up.
